Norwegian Gem is a medium-sized ship designed for relaxation and for enjoying wonderful days pampered by attentive onboard service. The ship offers spacious, human-scale areas, without the feeling of crowding typical of many cruises. Its concept differs from the current trend of mega-ships, making the cruise experience feel more natural and authentic. You will not find jaw-dropping attractions on board, but everything needed for an unforgettable holiday is there: a very large pool deck with an adults-only area and whirlpools, the Topsiders Grill for quick poolside snacks during the day (included in the fare), a spacious buffet with a wide variety of dishes, a kids’ club, numerous bars and pubs to relax in, and a large theater offering excellent shows every evening. The cabins are well maintained despite the ship’s age, welcoming and very quiet. Our cabin, a double inside stateroom, was very clean, comfortably sized for two people, and exceptionally quiet.
