Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to Antequera, a beautiful and historic city in Andalusia, southern Spain. Antequera is renowned for its ancient burial mounds, centuries-old Alcazaba Fortress, and vast nature preserve of Torcal de Antequera, a national park outside of the city that features unique, dramatic, and tower-like limestone rock formations. Overlooking the town is Pena de Los Enamorados, a distinctive, face-shaped mountain. On your approach to the city, gaze out over the rolling hills, picturesque valleys, and distant horizon of Antequera, a city steeped in history.

Upon arrival and after a quick comfort stop at the Dolmens de Antequera, you will head toward the city center to begin your guided and narrated walking tour of the historic city center of Antequera. Learn about Antequera’s rise and evolution, along with the events and characters that helped shape its identity. Convento de las Descalzas, Colegiata de Sta María la Mayor, or Palacio de Nájera, will be some of the beautiful sites you will be learning about on this excursion.

After your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.24 miles (about two kilometers), at times over uneven, cobblestone, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the sites visited. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilize a wheelchair.
