Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Indulge your senses with a celebration of Puerto Rican art, and culture during this immersive, half-day sightseeing excursion to Santurce.
San Juan, Santurce, Art District, Walking Tour, Colourful & Vibrant Murals
Depart the pier for the short drive to Santurce, one of the most iconic neighbourhoods in the city of San Juan. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour through this artsy, free-spirited district, and see first-hand the various buildings that have been painted with colourful and vibrant murals.
La Calle Cerra, Murals, Street Art, Buildings, Storefronts
Along the way, a visit is made to La Calle Cerra to marvel at the many impressive murals created by local and international artists. Year after year, these artists came together as a community to 'beautify' this neighbourhood through art. Today, it has expanded into a movement motivated by the idea that art can change and heal buildings as well as people. During the walk back to your coach, look around and see if you can spot any bright and colourful street art in buildings or storefronts.
Museum of Art of Puerto Rico, Guided Tour, Permanent Art Collection, Sculpture Garden, Condado
Next, re-board your coach and head to the nearby Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (Museum of Art of Puerto Rico). En route, learn more about this charming neighbourhood and its art. Upon arrival at the museum, take a guided tour of its permanent collection and some time to enjoy the Sculpture Garden, too. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach for the short drive back to the pier via Condado, San Juan's most luxurious district.
