Enjoy this panoramic sightseeing introduction of Trondheim, taking you past all the city sites, including the Nidaros Cathedral and Kristiansten Fortress.
Panoramic Drive
Driving through the city center you will pass many wooden buildings that are so typical of Trondheim, and you will see the statue of Viking King Olav, who founded the city in 977. Continue past the Folk Museum of Trøndelag that encircles the remains of "Sion", King Sverre's Palace, from approximately 1180. You will also see Stiftsgården, which is the 2nd largest wooden building in Scandinavia, built in 1778 and is now a royal residence. At the Fishmarket "Ravnkloa" you will see where the local fishermen sell fresh fish and seafood.
Photo Stop at Kristiansten Fortress
Leaving the city center, you will make a photo stop at Kristiansten Fortress. From its hillside location, the fortress has stood guard overlooking the city since 1681 and was used as a place of execution for Norwegian members of the Resistance during World War II.
Nidaros Cathedral
Returning to the city you will drive past the Nidaros Cathedral, Scandinavia's largest medieval building. The construction of the cathedral started in 1070 AD and is built over the grave of St. Olav. Therefore, the cathedral is an important destination for Christian pilgrims. The building has been destroyed several times by fire but has always been rebuilt. The oldest part of the cathedral dates back to the 12th century.
Sverresli View Point
During the tour you will have also make a brief photo stop at Sverresli view point where you are able to enjoy the scenery of the city from above.
The tour concludes at the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of optional walking for approximately 440 yards (about 400 metres), at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and a few steps at the Kristiansten Fortress. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.
