Excursion Oslo walk & opera house tour at Oslo

Take the opportunity to see the centre of Oslo by foot.


Medieval Castle Akershus,historical buildings, Old Military Hospital

The guided walk will start with a path up to the medieval castle Akershus dating from the 12th century. Passing by the castle chapel we continue to the area called «kvadraturen». You will hear more about the historical buildings, see «Engebret's cafe» one of the oldest cafes/restaurant in Oslo, and passing by the old military hospital before reaching down to the modern area of Bjørvika.


Norwegian National Opera

Here we get a stunning view to the modern, award winning building of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, which opened in 2008. We will have a guided tour that provide an insight into what happens backstage, before the curtains are lifted.


Central Station, statue of the Tiger, Oslo Cathedral, main street Karl Johans gate

From here we continue by the Central station, passing by the statue of the Tiger, before we come to Oslo Cathedral and the main street Karl Johans gate. We stroll along the city's golden centre and will hear about the splendid monuments and buildings, like the Parliament Building, the University, the National Theatre and the Royal Palace.


City Hall Square, City Hall

Afterwards continue to the City Hall Square to admire Oslo's modern City Hall (Outside Visit only) where every year the Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded on December 10th.

Finally, your walk will bring you back to your ship. On the way you will have a view to fisherman's Wharf «Aker Brygge» and the new harbor area Tjuvholmen (Thiefs Island).
