Excursion Hardangerfjord by rib tour at Rosendal
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Give your adrenaline a boost and your inner adventurer a rare sense of freedom as you board a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) for a 90-minute spin on the Hardangerfjord. Your able skipper knows how to handle this nimble craft at exhilarating speeds and also when to slow it down for up-close inspection of scenic landmarks and natural features.
From the pier, it’s just a few-minute walk to the RIB station, where you’ll receive your safety briefing and get geared up with flotation suit, life vest, and goggles – all to help keep you as dry as possible during the ride, even with the occasional bumps and swerves.
The route leads northward through the Sildafjorden, a branch of the main fjord, and includes a thrilling drive-by of Furebergsfossen – an iconic local waterfall that plunges down the mountainside in multiple streams, courses under a roadway, and careens into the fjord. But much of the fun is in the freeform exploring this day, as your skipper pilots the craft around remote islands and other noteworthy sights within this vast body of water set in a valley surrounded by majestic peaks and Nordic nature at its most splendid. An hour and a half later, pull back in at the RIB station with tousled hair and a cartoon-sized grin likely on your face. Ready to do it all over again, if only you could.
