Great Barrier Reef

Depart the ship aboard a catamaran for the scenic, approximately 1.75-hour ride to the Great Barrier Reef. Upon arrival, proceed to the Heart Pontoon at Reef World, located on Hardy Reef, or the Knuckle Reef Pontoon. Both areas are extraordinarily beautiful, with amazing coral formations teeming with a variety of colourful fish and marine life. After morning tea is served, receive your safety and snorkelling instructions and equipment, then begin your guided snorkelling session.

Snorkelling Trails & Semi-Submarine-Ride

Along the way, explore easy-to-follow snorkelling trails, or simply relax on the sundeck and take in the amazing panoramic view of the Great Barrier Reef. Even if you don't want to get wet, you can still enjoy the reef by taking a ride on Reef World's semi-submarine, which features a large, 50-seat underwater viewing chamber and grouper-viewing hole. This large, underwater observatory is the ideal place to sit back, relax and watch the colourful schools of fish as they glide by. Experienced and first-time scuba divers may also participate in optional scuba diving at their own expense. Following the snorkelling portion of your tour, depart the pontoon for the approximately two-hour ride back to the ship. En route, enjoy lunch whilst cruising by Whitehaven Beach.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of activity, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the catamaran, pontoon and semi-submarine. This tour is recommended for guests that are in good physical condition, and can swim in water too deep too stand. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guest with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with beach or water shoes, and bring sun protection and a towel from the ship. Snorkelling equipment is provided. Waterproof cameras are highly recommended. Guests must be at least 21 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Guests may not snorkel if they have consumed alcohol. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, fish and marine life sightings are not guaranteed. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions.
