St. George's, Richmond Hill, Fort Frederick, St. George's Harbour, Carenage, Mountain Ridges
Depart the pier for a scenic drive through the town of St. George's, the capital of Grenada, en route to Fort Frederick. Perched atop Richmond Hill, this 18th-century fortress offers panoramic views over St. George's Harbour, Carenage, and rolling mountain ridges covered in lush vegetation and quaint houses. Fort Frederick was built by two nations. The French started it in 1779, and the British completed it in 1791 during the French Revolution. The Fort is a large stone quadrangle, with bastions at each corner. Each face of the curtain wall is approximately 179 feet (about 55 metres) long, approximately 17.5 feet (about 5.3 metres) high and approximately three feet (about 0.91 metres) wide at the base.
Annandale Waterfall, Nature Trek, Hanging Ferns, Tropical Foliage, Medicinal Plants
Next, re-board your coach and head to the Annandale Waterfall. Upon arrival, take a short, but steep, guided walk down to a green paradise. Here, the rushing water is framed by hanging ferns, and a variety of the island's flowering and medicinal plants. Following your visit to these idyllic surrounds, re-board your coach and proceed to Grand Etang National Park.
Grand Etang National Park, Crater Lake, Flora and Fauna, Mona Monkeys
Upon arrival at Grand Etang National Park, enjoy a refreshing complimentary beverage whilst taking in stunning views of the lake, which is in the crater of an extinct volcano, surrounded by a lush, tropical forest, and part of the nature reserve. The scenery is breathtaking, and your vantage-point offers a unique opportunity to view a fascinating section of the flora and fauna that comprise this rainforest. You may even be fortunate enough to spot mona, a species of monkey that inhabits the area. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
