Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to the Château La Coste Estate, located north of Aix-en-Provence. Château La Coste combines all the elements of the perfect French 'art de vivre', a unique artistic experience in an atmosphere of calm luxury. Depending on your predilection, Château la Coste is either an estimable winemaker with a sideline in contemporary art, or a marvel of modern architecture with an open-air gallery that happens to have a vineyard attached. Whatever your viewpoint, Château La Coste is an exceptional discovery of art, architecture and fine wine.

Château La Coste is an atypical art estate in a protected environment. Before creating their works, contributing artists and architects were invited to visit the estate and discover the beauty of its landscapes. Afterward, freedom was given to them as to the choice the work created, and the location in which it would be placed. The estate continues to grow, with many upcoming installations planned. Upon arrival, take a guided exterior walking tour of the estate. Along the way, stroll through the woods, hills, olive groves, and vineyards of the estate, and discover the works of art and installations of the contemporary artists and architects invited.

Over 30 major art installations are scattered throughout the domain amongst oak trees, 100-year-old pines, vines, and lavender fields. Marvel at architectural creations by Tadao Ando, Jean Nouvel, Renzo Piano and Frank O. Geary, as well as art installations created by renowned artists and luminaries. Included are: Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Larry Neufeld, Ai Weiwei, Sean Scully, Andy Goldsworthy, Michael Stipe, Tom Shannon, Tracey Emin, and Liam Gillick. Following your guided tour, enjoy some free time for independent exploration. Your tour concludes with an approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for up to 0.93 miles (about 1.5 kilometres), at times over uneven, natural, and cobblestone surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and steps at the estate. Walking at the Château La Coste Estate is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a sweater or light jacket, an umbrella, bottled water, and bring Euros and/or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
