Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Depart Pier on a Scenic Drive through Edinburgh into South Queensferry.
South Queensferry, Forth Road Bridge
South Queensferry or simply The Ferry, is a town to the west of Edinburgh. Depart Queensferry on a drive over the Forth Road Bridge, the bridge opened in 1964 and at the time was the longest suspension bridge in the world outside of the United States. The Bridge spans the Firth of Forth, connecting Edinburgh at South Queensferry, to Fife, at North Queensferry. It replaced centuries-old ferry service. Continue over the Queensferry Crossing, the 1.7 miles (2.7km) structure is the longest 3-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world. It is also by far the largest to feature cables which cross mid-span. The innovative design provides extra strength and stiffness, allowing the towers and the deck to be slenderer and more elegant. The new crossing formed the centrepiece of a major upgrade to the cross-Forth transport corridor in the east of Scotland, representing a total Scottish Government investment of over £1.3 billion.
Linlithgow
Travel to the beautiful town of Linlithgow, which gained its royal status as a burgh in 1388, when it developed as a royal residence for on the raised hill beside the Loch. Admire the beautiful Palace, which remains the chief historic attraction of the town.
Your scenic tour concludes back at the pier.
