Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Embrace the scenic natural splendour of one of the most beautiful alpine resorts in Europe during this panoramic, full-day sightseeing excursion to Bled.
Koper, Bled, Bled Castle, Breath-Taking Lake & Alps Views
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately two-hour drive inland to Bled, with a comfort stop en route. With its immense natural beauty, Bled, together with its surrounds, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts. One of Europe's most scenic corners, Bled is home to a mild, healing climate, pristine lake with thermal lake water, alpine vistas, and a tiny island crowned with a charming church belfry. Upon arrival, this stunning scene unfolds during the short walk uphill to Bled Castle, an 11th-century fortress perched atop an outcropping with sweeping views of the lake and distant Julian Alps.
Lake Bled, Canopied Boat-Ride, Bled Island, Church of St. Mary, Belfry
Leaving the castle, walk down to magnificent Lake Bled and embark a traditional pletna, a canopied boat piloted by a standing oarsman at the aft. A short cruise delivers you to Bled Island, where you can climb the 99 steps to the Church of St. Mary, and, if desired, continue up to the Belfry. According to legend, those who ring the bell twice have their wishes answered.
Return Boat-Ride, Free Time, Lunch
Following your visit to the Church of St. Mary, embark your pletna for the short cruise back to shore. Upon arrival, disembark your pletna and enjoy some free time at your leisure for independent exploration, a wealth of spectacular panoramic views, and lunch at your own expense at one of the local bar or restaurants. If you opt to skip the boat-cruise, enjoy additional free time at your leisure in Bled. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately two-hour drive back to the pier.
