Excursion Zhi nan temple & tea time tour at Keelung

Departing from Keelung Port, your journey begins with a scenic drive of approximately one hour to the

lush, forested hills of Mu Zha, a region renowned for its tea plantations and traditional teahouses.

Maokong Gondola

Start your experience with a ride on the Maokong Gondola from the Taipei Zoo Station to the Zhinan

Temple Station. Enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and cityscape as you ascend.

Zhi Nan Temple

Upon arrival, walking through tree trail to visit Zhi Nan Temple, perched gracefully on the

mountainside. This over-century-old temple features intricate architecture reflecting the harmonious

blend of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. To ease your journey, the minibus will meet and pick

you up at the temple’s rear entrance, avoiding the steep staircase.

YaoYue Teahouse

After exploring the temple, proceed to Maokong, a region steeped in more than 100 years of tea

culture. Visit YaoYue Teahouse, which evolved from a tea farm into a renowned teahouse in 1980.

Experience a traditional tea brewing demonstration, sample high-quality teas, and take a relaxing

stroll through the tea garden.

Conclude your tour with a comfortable drive back to Keelung Port, reflecting on the serene

landscapes and cultural richness experienced throughout the day.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to climb.  Minibus will be used to this tour due to narrow, winding roads.  Please wear comfortable shoes for the walks and light jacket as it may be windy on the mountain.  A tour of the tea garden is not always possible due to weather condition.  Gondola service may be affected by bad weather condition.
