Olveston House, Manicured Gardens

Depart the pier for approximately 30-minute drive on to historic Olveston House. Designed by London architect, Sir Ernest George, and built between 1904 and 1907, the home is set amidst an acre of manicured gardens and abuts the lush parkland, or 'Town Belt', that surrounds the centre of Dunedin. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of this 35-room Edwardian mansion, which is filled with treasures from all over the world. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Dunedin Botanic Garden

Next, continue to the glorious gardens, ponds and meandering paths of the internationally renowned Dunedin Botanic Garden. Let your imagination run wild as you explore New Zealand's oldest public garden, sited next to New Zealand's oldest college, the prestigious Otago University. Established in 1863 and extensively enlarged during the early years of the 20th century, this 72-acre oasis forms part of Dunedin's Town Belt, a circle of green that surrounds the inner city.

Scenic Drive, Otago Harbour, Octagon, Dunedin, Railway Station

Afterwards, enjoy a scenic drive highlighting expansive views of lovely Otago Harbour and its colorful beach communities plus photo stops at two of the city's most notable attractions. Visit the Octagon, an eight-sided plaza that forms the core of Dunedin's imposing business district, and pass by the Dunedin Railway Station, a jewel in New Zealand's architectural crown.
