Excursion Historic city of yanbu tour at Yanbu
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Endearingly called the "the Pearl of the Red Sea," the port city of Yanbu dates back 2,500 years, and now is known for its countless underwater treasures that draw communities of scuba divers.
Take a drive to the abandoned village of Al Nakhl. On the way, cross a valley that was rich in vegetation and villages in ancient times. Lack of rainfall over the years has forced the local population to abandon these places, leaving an arid landscape dotted with leafless palm trees and a picturesque atmosphere.
After exploring the stone village, head to the historical district of Yanbu. Walk through the ancient streets and experience the energy of the market. The atmosphere here is a feast for the senses and a journey back in time when Yanbu was a crucial place on the spices route. Enjoy a visit to the restored Souq Al-Lail which was originally open at night to serve the local fishermen.
