Excursion Glenfinnan viaduct hike tour at Fort William

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

There is something magical about the sight of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, whether or not you are a fan of the Harry Potter films. The pioneering concrete crossing was opened in 1901 and has always been something of an attraction, but when it carried the Hogwarts Express it became synonymous with the Potter franchise. This hike visits the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and has outstanding views of the surrounding mountainous terrain and Loch Shiel.

Note

Please note: The total distance of the hike is about 4 km (2.5 miles). It is quite an extensive hike and therefore not suitable for guests with limited mobility. The path climbing above the viaduct and down to the station is an improved hill path with a stony surface; the rest of the route is on easy tracks. A small section of the hike is follows the main road A830 on a pavement. Warm waterproof clothing and hiking boots that support the ankle are recommended. We recommend you bring your filled Silversea drinking bottle to remain hydrated during the outing, as well as your Silversea backpack to carry your essential items.
