Scenic drive to Drake’s Seat
From the pier, a very scenic 15-minute drive by safari bus brings you up to Drake's Seat, reputed to be the very spot from which the famous British sea captain once directed his ships to plunder. Whether that legend is myth or not, the down-island views from this strategic hilltop location are indisputably spectacular – with Charlotte Amalie Harbour and heart-shaped Magens Bay just below, and St. John and the British Virgin Islands sparkling out on the horizon.
Beach interval at Magens Bay
That picture-perfect beach you just viewed from Sir Francis Drake’s seat will now become your USVI utopia for the next two hours. Discover Magens Bay, often designated a Top Ten beach of the world by travel magazines – and for good reason. Settle in along the sugar-white sand and crystalline waters for two hours of sun, swimming, the sound of palms rustling, and the sheer natural wow of this special spot on Earth
Arrgh…the Pirate Treasure Museum
Ahoy scallywags and history buffs: an interactive journey through the golden age of piracy awaits! During an hourlong visit to the Pirate Treasure Museum, you can easily envision the era of bold sea traders, swashbuckling pirates, and colourful West Indian port city life of the 1600s. Learn about Virgin Island shipwrecks, admire a collection of cannons, weaponry, gold and silver bars and coinage – even experience simulated hurricane winds and operate a remote treasure-collecting vehicle. Once finished, it’s a short walk back to the ship via the adjacent port facility.
