Excursion Costa brava tour at Roses

Imagine a place where you can travel back in time. Tossa de Mar is like an open-air museum where prehistoric remains overlap with Roman Turissa, medieval Tursa and today's Tossa, a one-time retreat for artists and intellectuals and now host town for tourists and visitors. Located on the Girona coast, half way between the city of Barcelona and the French border, Tossa de Mar is an ancient fishermen's village with an important historical background that has been transformed during the last 50 years into an emblematic tourist destination of the Costa Brava.

Santa Clotilde Gardens

Depart the port and make your way to Lloret de Mar, approximately a 1.5 hour drive. Stop first at the Gardens of Santa Clotilde, this wonderful garden was landscaped in a setting of great beauty on top of a cliff with breath-taking views over the sea.

Tossa de Mar

Next, make your way to the picturesque village of Tossa de Mar . Here, your guide will lead you on a historic tour to admire the castle and the Roman villa of Ametllers, consisting of the urban and rustic parts. It is still being excavated at the present but these remains show evidence of an uninterrupted commerce with all the Mediterranean world from the Roman period onwards.

Tossa is also famous for the statue of Eva Gardner, the first wife of Frank Sinatra, who made her first film here in Tossa de Mar.

After an amazing day spent in a place unlike you have ever been, re-board your coach for the return trip to the port of Rosas.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking over uneven surfaces at times. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. We recommend wearing lightweight clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes. Bring a hat and sunscreen as well as you will spend most of the tour outdoors. Minimum age to participate is 15 years old.
