Excursion Wheelchair accessible: panoramic south isle tour at Kirkwall

Depart along the coast of Scapa Flow to the smaller South Isles. Drive over the first of the Churchill Barriers commissioned during the Second World War to protect Scapa Flow from enemy invasion. Visit the beautiful, hand-painted Italian Chapel resourcefully built by Italian prisoners of war out of scavenged construction material. The chapel is a memorial to peace but also to the resilience, ingenuity and skill of the prisoners.
Depart for Kirkwall to visit St Magnus Cathedral, built by the Vikings during their 500 year reign over the islands before returning to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking and is specially designed for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise wheelchair or a scooter. The tour route avoids steps and stairs. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended.
