About Ruisseau Bois-Joli Garden

The biodiversity of the park is simply astonishing, considering this boreal environment. Created by the local community in 1984 to give new life to abandoned land, the park gives the community a wonderful place to walk and enjoy the nature and artwork. Children from the nearby elementary school are delighted to see flowers, artwork, and small animals adjacent to their school. This social initiative also had an important impact on residents of the local community by improving their fulfilment and feelings of belonging. As a result, they were inspired to regroup, clean the site, and plant a wealth of diverse flora generously donated by private gardens. To date, the Ruisseau Bois-Joli Garden incorporates more than 14,000 plants.

Mr. Synnott’s Forest, Metal Creatures, Characters & Animal Figures

Next, re-board your coach and drive to the nearby Mr. Synnott’s Forest. This beautiful, yet mysterious forest features hundreds of outdoor sculptures entirely made from recycled metal. An industrial welder by trade, Jean-Pier Synnott has been passionate about art from an early age, assembling and breathing new life into scrap industrial materials for approximately two decades. Entirely made up of waste collected from his employers, the metal universe Synnott has created consists of amazing creatures, characters, and metal animals, and attracts more-and-more visitors each year. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
