Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Indulge your senses with the splendid natural beauty, flora and fauna of Malaysia during this scenic, half-day nature trek at Similajau National Park.
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the expansive, 22,223-acre (8,996-hectare) Similajau National Park, a unique geographical area abounding with diverse flora and fauna.
Upon arrival and after a comfort stop, begin your guided nature trek past the indigenous vegetation of the Sundaland Health Forest and Dipterocarp Forest. Along the way, look for the Malaysian ginseng tree, or 'Tongkat Ali', and the carnivorous pitcher plant, or 'Monkey Cup'.
A stop is made at a viewpoint offering breath-taking panoramic vistas before returning to the park entrance on-foot. Upon arrival, another comfort stop is made before re-boarding your coach and commencing the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier, with a brief visit to the Longhouse en route.
Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.9 miles (about three kilometres), at times over uneven forest floor with intertwining roots, steep and slippery surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe, non-slip walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a raincoat and insect repellent from the ship.
