RIB-Boat Cruise

Following a short walk to the pier, embark a rigid-inflatable boat (RIB) for a scenic, approximately 2.5-hour cruise along the rugged Tassie coastline. Your new RIB-boat features spacious, enclosed cabins and comfortable leather seats with large awning windows that enable you to immerse yourself in your beautiful surrounds. There is also standing room outside the cabin, if you prefer to feel the rush of the wind around you as the RIB-boat speeds through the water.

Cruising down the Derwent River, pass by Battery Point, now one of Tasmania's premium residential addresses, as well as iconic landmarks such as the Wrest Point Casino, Iron Pot Lighthouse and the Shot Tower. Further south, you can appreciate the scale of Mount Wellington as it towers over the city.

Storm Bay, Betsey Island, Seabirds, Hope Beach, Indian Ocean

Next, cruise into Storm Bay en route to Betsey Island, an uninhabited island that is home to a variety of seabirds, including gulls, cormorants and the majestic, white-bellied sea eagle. As you circumnavigate Betsey Island, spot isolated Hope Beach and feel the swell of the Indian Ocean. At the conclusion of your visit, return to the pier, disembark the RIB-boat and commence the short walk back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), with a few steps to negotiate to embark/disembark the RIB-boat. This tour is not suitable for guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and a light jacket from the ship.
