Prince Edward Island & Point Prim Lighthouse
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately forty-five minute drive to the Point Prim Lighthouse. Built in 1845, the Point Prim Lighthouse is the first and oldest lighthouse on Prince Edward Island, and one of only two round, brick lighthouses in Canada. Set against a wild, windswept landscape, this lighthouse stands just over 60 feet (about 18.2-metres) tall from foundation-to-weathervane. It consists of five levels, all of which are connected by a series of wooden steps. During your visit, you may opt to climb to the top and be rewarded with wonderful views. After your visit, re-board your coach and proceed to the Wood Islands Lighthouse.
Wood Islands Lighthouse
Wood Islands Lighthouse, one of 50 lighthouses on Prince Edward Island. Completed in 1876, the Wood Islands Lighthouse consists of a 52-foot (15.8-metre) square pyramidal wood tower with lantern and gallery, rising from one end of a 1.5-story keeper's house. The building is painted white with red trim, and the lantern and keeper's house roof are red. The keeper's house is used as a crafts shop and visitor centre.
Prince Edward Battery
During the return drive to your ship, you will be able to soak up even more of the beautiful countryside. Prince Edward Island, of Anne of Green Gables fame, boasts stunning scenery rightfully earning it the title of the "garden province" of Canada. Enjoy one last photo stop at the Prince Edward Battery before your experience concludes in Charlottetown.
The tour concludes back at the pier.
