Excursion Panoramic lewis tour at Stornoway

Depart the capital of Stornoway, travel across the beautiful west coast of the island to the site of Dun Carloway Pictish Broch. Probably built sometime in the last century BC, it would have served as an occasionally defensible residence for an extended family complete with accommodation for animals at ground floor level. It would also have served as a visible statement of power in the local area.

Return to the ship via the scenic roads with a local guide providing commentary.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking mainly at guests' discretion.  This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair as long as they can negotiate the steps on and off the coach and some uneven surfaces at Dun Carloway, including some slopes. Access to exterior of Dun Carloway but note sloping path to Broch. Parts of the path are not accessible for wheelchair users. We request that any wheelchair users be accompanied as the guide cannot take responsibility for them during the tour. Warm and waterproof clothing recommended.
