Excursion Nordic island escape by helicopter tour at Helsinki

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Unique aerial views from Helsinki and its archipelago, a visit to the tallest lighthouse in the Nordic countries, and an exclusive helicopter experience.

Begin your extraordinary Nordic adventure by departing from the pier for a 30-minute transfer to the heliport. After a short safety briefing, board your helicopter and take off for a breathtaking 60-minute flight over Helsinki’s archipelago. As you soar above the Baltic Sea, enjoy sweeping views of small islets, rocky outcrops, and open water leading toward the remote island that houses Bengtskär Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in all of the Nordic countries.

Upon landing on Bengtskär’s dramatic rocky islet, you’ll start a 2.5-hour visit, which includes a guided tour of the historic lighthouse, time to explore the surrounding cliffs and rugged terrain, and a light lunch featuring local flavours. Discover the fascinating history of the lighthouse, including its construction, maritime significance, and role in war-time events, all while taking in the powerful, raw beauty of the open sea crashing against the rocks below. You will also have free time to wander independently, photograph the landscape, or simply enjoy the remote solitude of this extraordinary location.

Following your visit, board the helicopter again for a scenic 60-minute return flight back toward Helsinki, offering one last opportunity to enjoy sweeping aerial views. Upon arrival at the heliport, a 30-minute transfer returns you to the pier, concluding this exclusive and unforgettable island escape.
