Departing from Punta Leona travel along the route to the Mid-Pacific, into the Carara National Park, a low mountainous area of 4.700 hectares in a transitional climate zone, going from the very humid south to the dry coast of the North Pacific. This experience begins at the universal footpath, specially designed to make an easier and interesting walk into the forest, where you will have a wide range of audio-visual and haptic resources using advanced technology to facilitate easy access for people with physical disabilities or mobility limitations.

The park has facilitative features such as animal sculptures, haptic maps, Braille signs, etc., as well as resting areas, park information booths. Endangered species like scarlet macaws, yellow-billed “cotingas”, laughing falcons, and others can be easily seen here, as well as several species of monkeys and other mammals and impressive reptilians and amphibians.

After this beautiful experience, continue to the Tarcoles Bridge where visitors will have the opportunity to observe and take pictures of the large crocodile’s colonies that lives under the bridge at the riverbanks. From here continue to visit Hacienda Nosavar, where you will be able to enjoy some delicious tropical fruits and refreshments before returning to Punta Leona
