Discover the island of Bonaire in an environmentally-conscious new way during this scenic and fun-filled excursion via electric tuk tuk.
Kralendijk, e-Tuk Tuk-Ride, Bonaire, Fort Orange, Donkey Beach, Cactus Fence
After meeting your guide on the pier and receiving your safety and tour instructions, you are assigned a seat on an electric tuk tuk (e-tuk tuk). This open-air, open-sided, emission-free vehicle features a sunroof and three rows of seating that accommodate up to seven people per e-tuk tuk. Travelling in smaller groups ensures a more intimate and personal experience. Following a short introduction about Bonaire, begin your scenic sightseeing tour of the island via e-tuk tuk. Pass by Fort Orange, and Donkey Beach, followed by a photo stop at the Cactus Fence.
Coloured Houses, Salt Ponds, Shiny Pink Water, Blue Caribbean Sea, White Salt Mountains
Next, re-board your e-tuk tuk and continue past coloured houses, the vestiges of the island’s first hotel, and Trans World Radio en route to the famous salt ponds. Along the way, listen to your driver/guide explain the salt production process whilst passing by an amazing and colourful landscape. The salt pond’s shiny pink water contrasts the beautiful blue water of the Caribbean Sea, and the white salt mountains complete this mesmerising landscape.
Pastechi Tasting, Flamingos, Kralendijk, Picturesque Houses, Ocean Views, Coral, Klein Bonaire
During your visit, enjoy a ‘taste of Bonaire’ with a sample of a typical Bonairean snack called pastechi, which is filled with Dutch Gouda cheese. With a bit of luck, you can marvel at the pretty pink flamingos in this area. Leaving the salt ponds, re-board your tuk-tuk and commence the approximately 35-minute drive back to the pier. En route, pass through the capital, Kralendijk, and see its colourful houses, then ride along the boulevard with stunning views of the ocean, fishing boats, Coral Beach, and Klein Bonaire Island.
