Excursion dalian highlights and home visit tour at Dalian

People's Square

Depart the pier for the drive to People's Square, where locals gather to practice genteel ballroom dancing and badminton. Stately, Colonial-era buildings line the perimeter of People's Square, which was the site of scenes from the movie, The Last Emperor.

Kindergarten and Local Home Visit

Next, proceed on-foot to a local kindergarten. Upon arrival, visit with the children as they demonstrate their talents as painters and observe them put on a singing, dancing and musical performance. Leaving the kindergarten, head to a local home to visit with a Dalian family. Upon arrival, chat with your hosts and experience a taste of traditional Chinese hospitality. The Chinese have long welcomed foreign visitors into their homes, and there is no better way to experience their traditional home life than from the inside. Tea, candy and locally-made sweet cakes are served during your visit.

Farmer's Market and Friendship Shopping Centre

Continue on to the bustling Farmer's Market. A hub of activity in the city, the Farmer's Market offers a wide array of produce and seafood for sale. Your tour concludes with a brief stop at the Friendship Shopping Centre to browse for souvenirs. Afterward, you may opt to re-board the coach and return directly to the ship, or remain in town for independent shopping and return to the pier via the ship's shuttle bus.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.
