Depart the pier for the scenic drive to the historic Habitation Clément (Clément Plantation), a genuine architectural and industrial Heritage Site on the island of Martinique. The Habitation Clément is one of the main rum producers on Martinique, and is famous for its exclusive, aged rums. Upon arrival at this magnificent estate, take a guided stroll through the exquisite Botanical Garden with its rare collection of over 300 tropical plants. In addition, marvel at lovely Sculpture Garden, an open-air museum permanently exhibiting the works acquired by the Clément Foundation.

Nestled in the heart of the plantation, the Clément Foundation supports the development and valorisation of contemporary art in the Caribbean. In the old garden that borders the main house, many traditional trees provide a natural setting for the Creole Manor House. The main house symbolically occupies the highest point of the estate. It is exceptionally well-preserved and decorated with antique furniture.

Private Aging Cellars, Rum Aging & Production, Exclusive, Aged Rum Tastings & Food Pairings

Next, enter several of the private aging cellars of the distillery, which house over 2.1-million quarts (about two-million litres) and are closed to the public. Whilst at the private aging cellars, your guide reveals the secrets of the rum-aging and production processes, and offers you an opportunity to sample several exclusive, aged rums. In addition, food pairings are prepared to further-enhance the wonderful flavours of this prized libation. Afterward, you can browse the onsite boutique to purchase signature Habitation Clément and/or a souvenir of your visit. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and transfer back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 1 mile (about 1.5 kilometre), at times over uneven and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, 10 steps at the entrance, and 18 steps to access the private rum tasting room. Walking at the Habitation Clément is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, bottled water, and US Dollars, Euros, or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions. This tour operates during mornings and afternoons only.
