Excursion Alaska sealife center and wildlife cruise tour at Seward

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Discover the wildlife and the science of the Alaskan marine ecosystems on this educational and experiential excursion. Transfer from the ship to visit the Alaska SeaLife Center, a provider of scientific knowledge to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaska's marine ecosystems.

SeaLife Center research projects help scientists discover reasons for declining marine animal populations and environmental changes and it provides care for sick and injured marine animals, yielding important information about wildlife populations. The many exhibits at the Alaska SeaLife Centre immerse visitors in Alaskan marine ecosystems and provide opportunities to watch animals in naturalistic habitats as well as research settings.

Next, experience the cruise that President Obama took on his visit to Alaska in 2015. Transfer to the Small Boat Harbor and board a marine vessel to search for whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions, Dall's porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, puffins, and many other types of marine birds as you cruise the protected waters of Resurrection Bay on a 3.5-hour Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise.

Rather than following a set route, this cruise travels to the best whale and wildlife viewing areas that day based on reports from other vessels. Your experienced captain explores the area's wildlife hot spots to maximize your chances of viewing whales and other wildlife in Resurrection Bay. Enjoy narration by the captain and the naturalist crew members.

At the conclusion of the tour, return to the pier for embarkation.
