Take a journey through time to the captivating Iberian town of Xátiva during this panoramic, full-day sightseeing excursion.

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to Xátiva, birthplace of two popes and land of the Borgias. Upon arrival, board a the trolley train or minibus for a picturesque ride through the town centre. Along the way, your guide points out sites of interest and their place in the town's history. From here, continue up the hill leading to the Xátiva Castle. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour through this historic castle and its Museum of the Borgias, Gates of Hannibal and Battery.


Old Town, La Seu Cathedral (outside visit only), Way of Saint James, Almuddin

Following your castle tour, re-board the Trolley train or minibus for the ride back to the old town. Upon arrival, take a guided stroll through the Old City of Xativa, and pass by notable landmarks that include La Seu Cathedral (outside visit only), the Way of Saint James and Almuddin.


Montsant Restaurant, City of Arts and Sciences

Next, transfer for a Spanish lunch at the Montsant restaurant. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier. En route, ride through the City of Arts and Sciences, an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex, whilst your guide explains the different sites along the way.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking approximately 3.5 km over uneven, hilly, cobblestone, and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate when getting on and off the coach, as well as many steps at the sites visited and in town. The minibus ride refers to a small coach with approximately 30 seats. Both the minibus and the trolley train may experience bumps along the route due to road conditions. The trolley train is used only on bank holidays when regular buses are not permitted. This tour is not suitable for guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, or guests who require a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and to bring sun protection and local currency for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour. Guests must be at least 21 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. The cathedral visit will be conducted externally only; guests wishing to visit inside may do so during free time. The sequence of the tour may vary.
