Mild weather and a variety of wildlife make Haines an ideal location for kayaking during this adventure.
Greeted on the pier by your skilled guide, a short transfer takes you to the kayak site. Before driving to the Chilkoot Lake area, your guide provides a narrated tour of Fort Seward and the town.
Your guide tailors your paddling trip to the destination where weather and wildlife trends are most favorable. Following a safety briefing and the issuance of equipment, you 'put-in' and begin your voyage.
Kayak Adventure
You will quickly become at ease in your fast and stable fiber glass kayak. The two hours you spend on the lake offers the best opportunity to get the chance to see wildlife from this unique perspective.
Board your vehicle to return to the town of Haines. You will stop at a private, beach-side picnic location to enjoy a picnic-style lunch before returning to your ship.

Note
Please note: This tour requires a minimal amount of walking, some of which is over uneven terrain at the kayak 'put-in' area. Guests must be able to manoeuvre in and out of the kayaks at the water's edge and paddle for approximately two hours. This tour is recommended only to those guests who are physically fit; it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. Guests must be a minimum of 8 years of age and sign a waiver to participate. This tour may not be suitable for guests who are 6 feet 6 inches (195 cm) tall or 300 pounds (135 kilograms/21 stone), as they may not fit comfortably in the kayaks. Two and three-person kayaks may be used. All paddle gear, rain ponchos, and instruction are provided; previous experience is not necessary. Participation is limited.
