Excursion Valencia by bike tour at Valencia

Discover Valencia's old quarter in a unique way during this scenic half-day bicycle excursion. There are few cities like Valencia, able to harmoniously combine the remnants of its farthest past, dating to the year 138 BC, with the most innovative and avant-garde buildings from the new millennium.

Depart the pier via coach for a short panoramic drive through Valencia, Spain's third most important city. Valencia is known as the Flower City because of its vast number of parks and landscaped areas. Be introduced to your guide and then fitted with your bike and briefed with safety instructions. The city is virtually flat which makes viewing so enjoyable by bicycle.

Follow your guide as you slowly make your way to the City of the Arts and Science, later on you will head to the historical city center. The stops will be the following:

City of Arts and Science

This architectural complex comprises the very Museum of Arts and Science, the Hemisphere, Palau Reina Sofía, “el Ágora”, the Oceanographic and the cosy “Umbracle Gardens”.

Serrano Towers

The Serrano Towers mark the entrance to the old walls of Valencia City. They are considered one of the best-preserved monuments in Valencia.

Tapas

We will have a temporary rest at Alameda´s promenade for little tapas and a drink.

Central Market

Make your way to the market which is considered one of the oldest European markets in operation and located directly in the La Lonja area.

Miguelete Tower and Cathedral

Continue your ride and view one of the city's most emblematic monuments located beside the main door of the Cathedral and next to the Provincial Palace and the Torres de Serrano. The Miguelete Tower, from the top, offers outstanding views over Valencia and its fertile agricultural area.

Plaza de la Virgen

Ride by what was once the main square of Valencia, the Plaza de la Virgen, one of the prettiest of the many plazas in Valencia.

Rejoin your awaiting coach and drive back to the port and terminal building.

Note

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of bicycling for approximately 2.5 hours and approximately 10km (6.2 miles). This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition, and experienced and confident bicycle-riders as the ride goes over and through uneven terrain, crowded areas and streets with motorized vehicles. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear layered clothing and closed-toes walking shoes, and bring raingear, sunscreen a hat and sunglasses from the ship. Helmets are provided and must be worn through the riding portion of the tour.
