Canal Cruise
Board your open-air boat for a cruise taking you through the canal and along Nid River. Cruise upriver between the colorful warehouses, the old bridge, the Kristiansten Fortress and to Nidaros Cathedral. After disembarking the boat at Ravnkloa, begin your guided walking tour through the city. Trondheim is one of Norway’s oldest cities and on this walk you can savor its village atmosphere, with its characteristic blend of ancient and modern architecture.
Walking Tour
Walk by the Market Square, home of the statue of King Olav, the founder of the city. Cross the charming Old Bridge and visit the old town of Bakklandet, where many picturesque wooden houses are painted in vivid colors. Visit the first bicycle elevator with a lift specifically designed for cyclists. Upon arrival at Nidaros Cathedral you will see this splendid, 12th century gothic structure which is Scandinavia’s largest medieval building. The construction of the cathedral started in 1070 AD and is built over the grave of St. Olav. The church is richly ornamented in stone and has magnificent stained-glass windows.

Please note: It is recommended that guests dress in warm layered clothing and wear flat, comfortable shoes. This tour covers up to 5 km of walking on some cobblestone roads. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. An inside visit of the Cathedral is not included in the tour. Guests will be provided with rain ponchos, blankets and life jackets onboard the open-air boats. Comfort stop available at Nidaros Cathedral. The tour may operate in reverse order.
