Depart the pier for the short walk to your awaiting rigid inflatable boat (RIB), After receive your safety and tour instructions and gear, set off on your exhilarating, approximately RIB-boat-ride to the small island of Tautra, known as the 'Pearl of the Trondheim Fjord'.
Guided Walking Tour, Abundant Bird-Life, Flora and Fauna, Monastery Ruins, Maria Monastery
Upon arrival at Tautra Island, take a guided walking tour. Along the way, discover an island rich with bird life, flora and fauna, and stop at monastery ruins dating from 1207. After exploring the monastery ruins, visit the Tautra Mariakloster (Maria Monastery), which is still an operating monastery. This new monastery houses 18 nuns, and is complete with a small church and all of the facilities needed to live.
Klostergården Farm, Beer Tasting
Leaving the monastery, a refreshment stop is made at the charming Klostergården Farm for an opportunity to savour a light lunch and some of their local beer. Afterward, re-board your RIB-boat and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier. Upon arrival, disembark your RIB, return your equipment and commence the short walk back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of activity and an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.24 miles (about two kilometres), at times over uneven, natural and slippery surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and two large steps to embark/disembark the boat at the floating dock. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers and a weatherproof jacket and pants with sturdy, flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection from the ship. A life vest, goggles and a weatherproof suit are provided; XL is the largest weatherproof suit size available. Guests must be at least six years old to participate on this tour; minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. Guests weighing more than approximately 308 pounds (about 140 kilograms). Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife and marine life sightings are not guaranteed. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. A comfort stop is available at Klostergården. Operation of this tour, and the tour route taken, is subject to weather conditions. This tour may be cancelled at the last minute, and without prior notice. The tour sequence and timings may vary. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
