Tasiilaq is a town in southeastern Greenland, located on the island of Ammassalik. Tasiilaq has a population of around 2000 people and is situated along the beautiful Tasiilaq Fjord, which is offering natural beauty, characterized by towering mountains, deep fjords, and vast ice fields. The town has a rich Inuit cultural heritage. Traditional practices and modern influences coexist, providing a unique cultural experience for visitors. Explore this vibrant town, discover the little charming wooden church, which is a notable landmark. Visit the Ammassalik Museum, housed in a former colonial building from 1908, which offers insight into history, culture, and daily life of the local Inuit people. The town is known for its local artisans which create traditional Greenlandic crafts, including tupilaks (small carved figures), jewelry and clothing.

Please note: A moderate amount of walking to fully-explore the community, however walking in Tasiilaq is at the discretion of each guest. Local infrastructure is basic, note that most roads in Tasiilaq are paved, with some inclines and steps.  Guides, equipment, and services are the best-available but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and remote destinations. Dress in layers with sturdy, closed toe walking shoes/boots, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, weatherproof jacket, hat, and scarf.
