Depart the pier for the short walk to Ilhabela’s downtown pier. Upon arrival, receive your safety and tour instructions, then embark your awaiting boat for a scenic, approximately 65-minute ride to Cabras Island, passing the beaches of Engenho D'Agua, Itaguassu and Perequê en route.

 

Cabras Island Marine Refuge, Coral, Tropical Fish, Anemones, Starfish

Upon arrival at Cabras Island, enjoy snorkelling at the Cabras Island Marine Refuge. This inspiring underwater wildlife sanctuary was established in 1992 to preserve the fragile marine community. The protected ecosystem here includes a wide array of diverse and colourful coral, tropical fish, anemones, and starfish. Underwater cameras are highly-recommended to capture the undersea beauty of your surrounds. Water and fresh fruit are provided.

Return Boat-Ride

At the conclusion of your snorkelling, embark your boat for the approximately 50-minute ride back to Ilhabela’s downtown pier via the picturesque São Sebastião Channel. Upon arrival, you may opt to commence the short walk back to the pier or remain in the historic centre of Ilhabela for shopping and exploring at your leisure, and return to the ship on your own.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of activity with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, embark/disembark the boat, and manoeuvre in/out of the boat. This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition, and able to swim in water over their head. Strong currents are expected. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guest with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests with insect allergies, guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with flat, closed-toe walking or boat shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, a towel, bottled water, a plastic bag to keep your wallet, cell phone, camera, and/or photographic equipment dry, and local currency or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour; minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There are no changing facilities on board the boat. Snorkelling equipment and life vests are provided. Waterproof cameras are highly-recommended. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, fish and marine life sightings are not guaranteed. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Guests may not snorkel if they have consumed alcohol. Due to the protect eco-system environment on the island and clean, running water from its waterfalls, a small insect commonly known as a ‘borrachudo’ can be found here. As a result, insect repellent is highly-recommended and guests with any type of insect allergies are not permitted on this tour. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Expect hot and humid conditions. This tour is available during mornings only. This tour will not be cancelled due to rain only, but the destinatio may change due to tidal and/or weather conditions. Guests who wish to stay on board the boat may do so.
