Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of dog-mushing during this interactive, half-day husky excursion.

Depart the pier for the scenic and narrated, approximately 35-minute drive through downtown Skagway and along approximately nine miles (about 14.5 kilometres) of breath-taking coastline en route to Adventure Camp, a musher camp in Dyea. Upon arrival and after a comfort stop, board a Unimog, a 4X4 military vehicle, for an exhilarating ride up a private, rugged mountain road. Reach the dog sled area, which is located atop the mountain road.

Your arrival is greeted by your musher and a team of several energetic Alaskan huskies, who take you on an exhilarating summer sled-ride down an approximately one-mile-long (about 1.6-kilometre-long) trail deep within the Tongass National Forest aboard a custom-built sled. Following your ride, re-board your Unimog for a ride back down the mountain. Along the way, a photo stop is made at a viewpoint overlooking the Dyea tidal flats.
Interactive Musher Presentation, Play with Puppies, Gift Shop
Upon arrival back at Adventure Camp, proceed for a 'Kennel Talk'. During this informative and interactive presentation, your musher shares fascinating information about dog sledding and answers any questions you may have. Afterward, some free time is made available to play with the adorable puppies, whose socialisation is essential to their racing success. You may also take a short, optional hike to a lovely waterfall overlook. Finally, some free time is made available to relax around a cosy fire, browse the unique gift shop at your own expense. Following your tour and a comfort stop, re-board your bus and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of off-road driving and a minimal amount of walking for approximately 100 yards (about 91 metres), at times over uneven, gravel, muddy, snowy, and natural surfaces and inclines, with three steps to negotiate to get on/off the bus and five steps to get on/off the Unimog. Walking at the Adventure Camp is at the discretion of each guest. The ride may be rough at times, and guests will experience bumpy, jerking motions. This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with a fear of dogs, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, sturdy, closed-toe, and non-slip walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a weatherproof jacket, warm hat and gloves, bottled water, and US Dollars or credit cards for purchases from the ship; high-heels are not permitted on this tour. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions.
