Riga is the capital of Latvia, the largest city of the country and the most cosmopolitan town of the Baltic capitals. It is a well-known and highly appreciated industrial, commercial, cultural and financial center of the Baltic States as well as one of the most important seaports of the region. Experience the splendid, Old World architecture and landmarks of Latvia during this scenic, half-day sightseeing excursion through this historic city.

Art Nouveau District and Opera House

Depart the pier for the brief drive past the Presidential Palace to the unique Art Nouveau area.  Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of Alberta Street, home of some of the finest Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.  Afterward, re-board your coach and drive past the Old Zeppelin Hangers, Boulevard Circle, Latvia University and the National Opera House.

Next, pass by the Freedom Monument en route to the Monument of the Latvian Riflemen, then take a guided walking tour through the historic centre of Riga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  While strolling through the Medieval Hanseatic Old Town, pass the red-brick Gothic building, the tallest in Old Riga, the early-13th-century St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, the big and small Guilds, House of Blackheads, Dome Lutheran Church, and the romantic Convent Courtyard.

Stop at a unique venue to enjoy a brief music concert.

From here, visit Pils Square, home of the imposing, 14th-century Riga Castle.  Additional sights to be seen include the Three Brothers, the oldest building in Riva, St. Jacob's Church and the remains of the city's fortified Medieval wall.
