Excursion Pulpit rock flyover by seaplane tour at Stavanger
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Experience an unforgettable aerial adventure above Norway’s legendary Lysefjord as you soar by seaplane over the world-famous Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), one of Norway’s most iconic natural wonders.
Your journey begins at the pier, where a short transfer brings you to the seaplane dock. Upon arrival, your pilot-guide provides a brief introduction before you board the aircraft, climbing two steep steps to enter. Moments later you take to the skies for a breathtaking 25-minute flight, gliding over tranquil waterways, mountain ridges, and the dramatic landscape that defines Norway’s fjord country.
Lysefjord, Pulpit Rock
As the aircraft approaches Lysefjord, the scenery becomes increasingly awe-inspiring. Towering cliffs plunge into deep blue water, and the flight path brings you directly above Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen)—a remarkable natural plateau measuring 25 by 25 meters and standing 604 meters above the fjord. Its sheer vertical drop and commanding views have made it one of Norway’s most photographed landmarks and a celebrated natural attraction recognized globally. From the air, the experience is even more striking: the cliff appears suspended between sky and water, offering a perspective that few visitors ever witness.
Following your aerial tour, the seaplane gently touches down, and you disembark via the same two steep steps, before returning to the pier on a relaxing short transfer. This short but spectacular outing captures the essence of Norway’s dramatic beauty in an unforgettable way.
