Excursion Pelican point kayaking & 4x4 jeep tour at Walvis Bay

Discover the wildlife of Walvis Bay on water and on land on this delightful adventure of a Pelican Point kayaking tour, followed by a 4x4 vehicle tour of the Walvis Bay Harbor wetlands.

 

Travel 30 minutes from the pier to the Walvis Bay Waterfront. Meet your local guide and embark on your awaiting Planing Catamaran for a short marine cruise from the waterfront to Pelican Point Peninsula, where a large seal colony and schools of dolphins, which often swim alongside the boats, provide entertainment. Dolphins often sighted here are the Heavy side and Bottlenose.

 

Arrive directly onto Pelican Point Beach, disembark the catamaran take a short beach walk to the Kayak Base. Board your kayak to explore Pelican Point for an hour or so. Pelican Point is home to up to 50,000 Cape Fur Seals year-round. Return to Pelican Point Beach for some local refreshments and time to relax.

 

Leave the beach and board your guided 4x4 vehicles for an exciting drive exploring the Saltpans, Donkey Bay and Lagoon Wetlands, ending your tour on top of a Saltpan Dune overlooking the Salt Pans and flamingos.

Please note: This tour requires sufficient fitness to climb a ladder and operate a kayak with a paddle and to disembark from the catamaran; this tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties or for those in wheelchairs. Wear comfortable light clothing, walking shoes, and a light warm jacket. Bring a dry change of clothes; sun protection and sunglasses are also strongly recommended.
