Depart the pier with your guide for a scenic, one-hour drive along the coastal highway to Peggy's Cove. This tiny rustic fishing village of just 40 year-round residents is highlighted by the impressive rock formations left by eroding glaciers and granite millions of years ago. Upon arrival, explore Peggy's Cove at your leisure.
Free Time
Stroll along the walking trail to the stately lighthouse, or stroll through this tiny cove with its bustling fishing harbour. Along the way, learn about the history of the cove, lighthouse and the lobster fishery that is the backbone of the local economy. See the different types of traps used, and have an opportunity to touch a live lobster. For a taste of the region, you may wish to independently stop by the Sou Wester restaurant to sample the locally-renowned chowder and gingerbread.
Next, view a tribute to the people of Peggy's Cove at the massive de Garthe Monument before visiting the shops and galleries, or exploring the rocks on your own.

Afterward, return to Halifax for a guided tour of the Titanic gravesites at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where our knowledgeable guide will bring history alive with engaging commentary about Halifax's connections to the RMS Titanic.

The road at Peggy's Cove is hilly and narrow; the walking trail to the lighthouse is not wheelchair-accessible, guests with mobility concerns may use the observation deck overlooking the lighthouse. Guests must be able to navigate uneven and natural walkways at Peggy's Cove and Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Warm, layered clothing and closed-toe walking shoes are recommended. Refreshments are at each guest's discretion; we suggest you bring local currency for snacks and souvenirs. Peggy's Cove is a very popular touristic destination and crowds may occur during the visit.
