Norwegian National Museum

Oslo has received a lot of press reception in the last years due to its fascinating modern architecture that has turned Oslo’s harbour into one of the most modern architectural showpieces in Europe including world-class art.

After eight years of planning and development, the largest museum in the Nordic Countries finally opened in June 2022. It covers an exhibition area of around 13000m2 and has more than 5000 works of art on display, from medieval tapestries to modern designs and Norwegian paintings. The most famous for sure is the "The Scream" by Edvard Munch. After a guided tour you can explore the museum on your own.

The tour concludes at the pier.

This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Weather appropriate clothing, adequate sun protection and flat comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tour is not operating on Mondays, when the museum is closed. Backpacks and large bags are not allowed in the museum and must be left on the bus.
