Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the 50-year-old Mnar Castle, a beautiful, fairy-tale-like castle that is perched atop a hill, and overlooks the forested mountains and sea below. Upon arrival, you are greeted and escorted to a welcome buffet accompanied by the sounds of Deqqa Marakchia, a cultural musical tradition unique to Morocco. Afterward, receive your safety instructions for the dune buggy portion of the tour, then don your safety gear, hop in your dune buggy and begin your picturesque, approximately 2-hour dune buggy adventure. The Can Am vehicles utilised for this guided tour are renowned for their speed, comfort and ability to adjust to the diverse topography of northern Moroccan.

Beni Mejmel Wind Farm, Huge Wind Turbines, Rolling Hills of El Behraouyine, Tangier Views

A heavy engine's throb breaks the silence as we advance toward our first destination, located approximately one hour from Mnar Castle. Along the way, a brief photo stop is made at the Beni Mejmel Wind Farm, one of two wind farm sites in Tangier; the other, Dhar Saadane, is located in the southeast. The Beni Mejmel Wind Farm has a total of 39 turbines, each with 1,140 horsepower (about 850 kilowatts) of power and a diameter of approximately 170 feet (about 52 meters). The park overlooks the beautiful, rolling hills of El Behraouyine, and offers a spectacular panoramic view of Tangier.

Chejirat Forest, Mountain Summit, Refreshment and Photo Stop

Leaving the wind farm, re-board your dune buggy and head back on the road toward the Chejirat Forest. Upon arrival, proceed to a mountain summit. Here, a refreshment and photo stop is made to marvel at your exquisite surrounds, and enjoy the fresh air and a wonderful view of Tangier. Afterward, re-board your dune buggy and commence the ride back to the Mnar Castle. Upon arrival, return your dune buggy and safety gear, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of off-road driving and a moderate amount of walking for up to 547 yards (about 500 metres), at times over uneven and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and dune buggies. Walking at the sites visited is at the discretion of each guest. The dune buggies utilised on this tour seat four passengers, and the drivers switch halfway. The ride may be rough at times, and guests will experience bumpy, jerking motions. This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck/back problems, guests with heart/respiratory conditions, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to lightweight, comfortable clothing in layers that they won't mind getting dirty, including long pants and long-sleeve shirts with flat, sturdy and closed-toe walking or hiking shoes, and bring sun protection, a weatherproof windbreaker and bottled water from the ship; open-toed shoes are not permitted on this tour. The price of this tour is per person, and based on four people sharing one dune buggy. Guests must be at least 12 years old to ride as a passenger on this tour. Guests must be at least 18 years old, and present a valid ID showing proof of age, to drive an ATV on this tour. Safety helmets are provided, and must be worn the entire time during the ATV-ride. Guests must be at least 60 inches (about 152.4 centimetres) in height to participate on this tour. Photography/videography is prohibited whilst driving the dune buggy. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Guests are prohibited from taking photos of military personnel or locals without their consent. Guests are advised to mind their belongings at all times, particularly at tourist points-of-interest or crowded places. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions.
