See the beautiful bird rookeries nearby, frequented by hundreds of tufted and horned puffins, and kittiwakes who nest on the sheer windswept cliffs. Look up and you may see majestic bald eagles nesting in the tops of the Sitka spruce trees, and as you pass the smaller islands the gunneries from World War II on the cliff sides will come into view. As your journey continues, witness an abundance of marine wildlife, including sea otters, sea lions, and the occasional and various species of whales including humpback, orca, and minke. Keep watch for the playful antics of sea otters tumbling in the kelp beds. Kodiak is also home to where many of the famous king crab boats from the “Deadliest Catch” show moor for the summer before they head out to the Bering Sea.

Please note: Due to the steps and uneven ground in many places, this tour is not suitable to anyone with any type of mobility challenge, including those who require or use a wheelchair, walker, cane or any other type of mobility assistance.This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, approximately 200 feet, some of this over a sloped dock (up to 30 degrees) and ramps, with two to four stairs; there is a steep ramp to reach the vessel. Guests must have the agility to embark and disembark the vessel in a timely manner and on their own accord. Minimum age to participate is 12, and there are no weight restrictions. Guests are recommended to bring camera and sunglasses and to wear shoes with non-slip soles. This tour provides an inclusive small group experience within a limited capacity; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed.
