Depart the pier for the short drive to the Island Buggy Base. Upon arrival, receive your safety and riding instructions, then don your safety helmet, board your island buggy vehicle and begin your scenic and exhilarating island buggy adventure. Your open-air island buggy takes you on-and-off-road to explore some of the most captivating and beautiful parts of Grand Turk not frequented by most visitors to the island. Feel your adrenaline rise during this amazing journey along the marl tracks and rocky coastline of Grand Turk.

Enjoy breath-taking panoramic views of the turquoise blue Atlantic Ocean, Gibbs Cay, and surrounding Turk islands from the cliffs high above the shores. From here, your fun-filled journey continues on to the Grand Turk Lighthouse, built in 1852. Whilst at the Lighthouse, some free time is made available to relax, enjoy a drink or snack, and browse the shoppes at your own expense. In addition, take in spectacular views at the Cliff Hanger Look-Out, perched approximately 80 feet (about 24 metres) above the crashing waves below. This is also a great viewpoint for spotting humpback whales from January-March.


Salt Pans, Pink Flamingos, John Glenn's Space Capsule

Next, venture to another section of the island to see the salinas (salt pans) that were utilised to harvest salt. Upon arrival, view John Glenn's Space Capsule that landed off the Grand Turk shoreline in 1962 and look for the local pink flamingos that inhabit the island. At the conclusion of your tour, ride back to the Island Buggy Base, return your safety helmet and island buggy, then re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of off-road driving and a moderate amount of walking for approximately 328 yards (about 300 metres), at times over uneven, cobblestone, gravel, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off island buggy and three steps on the deck at the Lighthouse; walking at the Lighthouse is at the discretion of each guest. The island buggies utilised on this tour are two-seat Polaris island buggies. The ride may be rough at times, and guests will experience bumpy, jerking motions. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck/back problems, guests with heart, respiratory, or neurological conditions, guests with claustrophobia, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to warm, comfortable clothing in layers they won't mind getting dirty, including long pants and long-sleeve shirts with flat, closed-toe, and sturdy walking or hiking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and US Dollars or local currency for purchases from the ship; open-toed shoes are not permitted on this tour. The price of this tour is per person, based on two people sharing one vehicle. Guests must be at least 12 years old to ride as a passenger on this tour. Guests must be at least 18 years old, and present a valid ID showing proof of age, to drive an island buggy on this tour. Guests weighing over 270 pounds (about 122 kilograms). Safety helmets are provided, and must be worn the entire time during the island buggy-ride. Photography/videography is prohibited whilst driving the island buggies. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions.
