Excursion Island adventure by 4wd tour at Norfolk
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
While world-famous for its cultural history as a British convict settlement and safe harbor to the descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers, Norfolk Island’s most engaging attribute of all may be purely natural: the terrain of this island is ruggedly, magnificently, uniquely scenic. And this pioneering, off-the-beaten-track excursion by air-conditioned 16-seater 4WD coach offers a safe and comfortable way to survey it from the best vantage points.
Minutes after boarding the vehicle at the jetty, you’ll step off at a higher elevation to take in the 360-degree island vistas from atop Mt. Pitt, Norfolk’s second-tallest peak. A quick spin onward brings you to your second destination stop, Anson Bay Lookout, for clifftop views of the idyllic beach and shimmering turquoise bay waters below. Back on board for another few minutes, you’ll step off at an exclusive private property that affords exceptional birds-eye views of the Kingston Convicts UNESCO World Heritage Site. With 30 minutes to spend here, you’ll have plenty of time to drink in all the beauty.
In an outing of just 90 minutes, you will have visited unexplored valleys, sheer clifftops, windswept mountaintops, and more. Just bring your desire for exhilaration and your favorite camera. We’ll keep them both busy.
