Train Ride, Macarena Waterfall

Depart the pier for the coastal drive along Maipú Avenue, then pass by the airport en route to Tierra del Fuego National Park, located approximately seven miles (about 11 kilometres) from town. Upon arrival at 'The End of the World' Station, board an antique wagon of the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino, the first train to operate inside an Argentine national park. Your narrated ride follows a portion of the Pipo River and along the original terreplain. A backdrop of mountains adds to the impressive scenery of Tierra del Fuego National Park. Along the way, a photo stop is made at the Macarena Waterfall.

Tierra del Fuego National Park, Ensenada and Lapataia Bay

Your train ride passes through parts of this rugged wilderness, and reveals the unspoiled natural beauty of the world's southernmost national park. This nature reserve provides refuge to the grey fox, guanaco, Patagonian woodpecker, hawk, and steamer duck. At the conclusion of the 12-mile (19-kilometre) trip, re -board your coach at the Tierra del Fuego National Park Station and head for Ensenada Bay one of the highlights of your visit where you will have the opportunity to take some photos and then to Lapataia Bay, the southernmost point of the continent and the end of the Pan-American Highway.

Your tour concludes with an approximately 45 minutes scenic coach ride back to the port.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 500 metres (1640 feet), however guests must be able to negotiate the steps to embark and disembark the coach. The train is wheelchair accessible. The order of venues visited may vary.
