Excursion Central park walk & the met tour at New York

One of the Museum's most engaging docents will lead you through an intimate view of New York City's most venerated and visited museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with a private viewing before the public is allowed enter. At the conclusion of the discovery, enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee before free time is afforded to explore the museum on your own.
Next, take a moving experience through Central Park known as the "passages of scenery" with the ever-changing views experienced while walking through the various landscapes: broad meadows, rustic woodlands, tree-lined alleys and diversity of architectural structures. Your walk takes you East to West through taking in such sights as Belvedere Tower, The King Jagiello stature and nearby turtle pond offer respite to migrating birds.
The expert docent will guide you through historic places in the park including the Obelisk, a 3500-year old monument that once stood in ancient Alexandria, Egypt. During your walk, take in the Great Lawn, a 55-acre open space at the center of the park known as the venue for famous concerts and events, beginning in the 1970s. Other sights include Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge, and Strawberry Fields. En route you docent from the conservancy of the park will educate you on the park's history and their ongoing preservation efforts. At the conclusion of the walk, a short transfer brings you back to the ship.

Please note: This excursion involves an moderate amount of walking (1/2 mile total through park) and is not suitable for guests with limited walking difficulties or those who utilize a wheelchair. Light clothing, sun protection and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour is extremely limited, book early to avoid disappointment.
