Excursion Ancient salona & town of trogir tour at Sibenik

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Marvel at the ancient beauty and splendid landmarks of Croatia during this scenic, day tour of Salona and Trogir.

Salona Ruins

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1.25-hour drive to Salona. Upon arrival, a guided walking tour explores Croatia's largest Roman excavation. View fascinating ancient remains of amphitheatres, early-Christian churches, burial grounds, and pools.

Kastela Riviera and Trogir

Next, re-board your coach for a drive along the panoramic Kastela Riviera to Trogir, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trogir is situated on a small island between the mainland and larger island of Ciovo, and connected to the mainland via a bridge. Stone houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls, and green parks adorn the entire island.

Trogir Tour and Cathedral of St. Lawrence

Upon arrival in Trogir, take a guided stroll through the island's narrow streets. Along the way, visit the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Perhaps the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia, the cathedral's three naves and semicircular apses dominate the entire town. Additional sites to be seen include the Town Loggia, Town Hall and Cipiko Palace.

Independent Exploration and Lunch

Following your walking tour, some time is made available for independent exploration before proceeding for lunch at a restaurant in Old Trogir. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
