Gateway of India & Chowpatty Beach

Depart the pier for a scenic, approximately 75 -minute sightseeing drive through Mumbai. Along the way, pass by a wide array of beautifully-lit monuments. See the city's most famous landmark, the Gateway of India, an Indo-Saracenic archway built in 1911 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. Continue along Mumbai's seaside promenade, Marine Drive, an eight-lane highway with a wide pavement. Its graceful curve sweeps from the skyscrapers at Nariman Point to the foot of Malabar Hill. As the sun sets and the city is illuminated, it becomes a glittering necklace of a million lights. At the northern end of the drive is Chowpatty Beach, a Mumbai institution that comes to life at night.

Victoria Terminus

Next, pass by the Victoria Terminus, a railway station built during Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee year and inspired by St. Pancras Station in London. It is an extraordinary conglomeration of domes, spires, Corinthian columns and minarets. The first train in India departed from this station in April 1853; today, a half-million commuters use the station every day.

The Oberoi Mumbai & Dinner

Following your sightseeing drive, proceed for a modern Indian dinner at Ziya, the Indian specialty restaurant inside the luxurious Oberoi Hotel. This specialist modern Indian restaurant, boasts menus by the Michelin star chef Vineet Bhatia. After dinner, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and six steps at The Oberoi Hotel. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and those who utilise a wheelchair; however, guests must be able to board the coach via steps and wheelchairs will be stowed in the coach cargo compartment. Coaches and guides are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions.
